Uganda: HIV-Aids - Focus On Vulnerable Groups

Sometimes, it feels like the fight against HIV/Aids will never end. Each year, a report is released; it might be one showing what new trends are among those infected, or one stating the new challenges pharmacists are meeting in the struggle to come up with a vaccine. What must be applauded is the determination of those involved to find a cure and a way to reduce the risk people are exposed to. What must be acknowledged though is that there are still many hurdles to jump in the fight.

The HIV /Aids Uganda Country Progress report, 2013, by the Uganda Aids Commissions states that there are certain vulnerable groups greatly exposed to HIV. This is because of a combination of high HIV prevalence rates among them and extensive sexual networks.
