Uganda: Six Hospitalised With Nodding Disease Syndrome in Kitgum

Six children suffering from the nodding syndrome have been hospitalised in Kitgum hospital with severe seizures and epilepsy.

Three of the children were referred from neighboring Pader district and the rest are from villages of Kitgum district. Dr Geoffrey Akena, the acting medical superintendent of Kitgum hospital says the children were admitted to the hospital with severe malaria, urinary tract infections and burns among others.
