The annual Friends of the Environment (FOTE) walkathon, which was held from Bulawayo to Plumtree this year covering a distance of 100 kilometres, had an added twist to it, when participants took their tree planting activities into neighbouring Botswana.
This is the first time that the walkathon, now in its fifth year running, has crossed beyond Zimbabwean borders, with organisers excited by the expansion of the event to outside the country.
