Algeria/Spain - Launch of Twinning Programme to Improve Road Safety

Algiers — An institutional twining project between Algeria and Spain was launched Monday, in Algiers, in order to contribute to the improvement of road safety by strengthening the capacities of the National Centre for Prevention and Road Safety (CNPSR).

This project, financed by the European Union (EU) as part of the programme to support the implementation of the association agreement between Algeria and the European Union (P3A), is mainly intended to deal with road accidents still rampant in Algeria, with more than 4,000 deaths every year, said the Secretary General of the ministry of Transport, Mohamed M'hareb, at the launch ceremony.
