Western Sahara: Saharawi Ambassador Received By Panamanian National Assembly President

Panama — The Ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic to Panama, Ali Mahmoud was received Friday by the president of the National Assembly of Panama, the Honorable Deputy Ruben De Leon.

The Republic of Panama is the first Latin American country to recognize SADR, and has historical ties of friendship, solidarity and cooperation with the Saharawi Republic for nearly four decades.

The country is situated in the region of Central America enjoys a strategic geographical position, thanks to the famous Panama Canal linking the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, giving it an important place in world trade.

The Embassy of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in Panama reopened last Thursday, with the resumption of the functions of its diplomatic representation in the country, it should be recalled.
