Ethiopia: A Workshop On Environmental Diplomacy Kicks Off in Addis Ababa

Co-organized by Center for Governance and Sustainability at University of Massachusetts Boston and Horn of Africa Regional Environment Centre & Network (HoAREC&N) of Addis Ababa University, a three day-long Workshop on Environmental Diplomacy kicked off on Wednesday (January 13, 2016) at Gulele Botanic Garden in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Opening the Workshop, Ethiopia's State Minister, H. E Ambassador Taye Aske-Silassie noted that the workshop was organized at an opportune time given the major developments in much of 2015. Ambassador Taye said that it was in 2015 that the international community reached consensus on the Addis Ababa Action Agenda for the implementation of the Post 2015 Sustainable Development Goals, adding that agreement at COP21 in Paris was equally historic.
