RESIDENTS of Komsberg farm near Ariamsvlei in the South on Thursday afternoon had to scramble to safety after a flash flood caused by torrential rain in the area turned a dry riverbed into a raging river, flooding their reed houses.
The flood swept away at least 60 reed houses which were situated in the dry riverbed, leaving a total of 304 people homeless.
