Nigeria: 500,000 IDPs Receive Free Medical Treatment in Northeast

Maiduguri — A Non-Governmental organization, Smile Mission Healthcare (SMH) plans to give free medical treatment to 500,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) who lack access to proper medical attention in three states of the northeast geopolitical zone.

Addressing the inaugural annual general meeting of the group at the University of Maiduguri, National Chairman of SMH, Dr Saleh Kazar said this year alone, the group will target 250,000 vulnerable IDPs from Borno, 150,000 from Yobe and 100,000 from Adamawa being the three states worst affected by insurgency.
