Cameroon: Customs Administration - Digitising to Trigger Results

The Customs Department is committed to scale up performance through the use of Information and Communication Technology.

The Customs Department wants to revamp the Customs sector in Cameroon by enhancing the use of Information and Communication Technologies in the mobilisation of State revenue. The Director General of Customs, Fongod Edwin Nuvaga made the pledge at the courtyard of the Yaounde City Council, host of a two-day open door organised within the framework of World Customs Day observed across the world today January 26, 2016. The Customs boss said they were resolute to digitising the customs sector based on its importance to triggering performance. The World Customs Organisation has placed this year's day on the theme, "Digital Customs: Progressive Engagement."
