The Ministry of Health and Quality of Life in collaboration with the World Health Organisation and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of Atlanta will be conducting a Global Youth Tobacco Survey among students aged 13 to 15 years old with a view to develop appropriate health strategies for this particular age group in order to reduce any risk of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
The announcement was made by the Minister of Health and Quality of Life, Mr Anil Gayan, yesterday at BPS College in Beau Bassin, at the launching of the School Health Programme for secondary schools targeting Form I students.
