The murder of Roger Gower, 37, by poachers did not only shock the world; it also thrust Tanzania into the global limelight in a negative way.
The international media was awash with news on the killing of a man dedicated to the protecting of animals. And he was in the trenches in Tanzania on the fateful day, trying to stop the poachers whose lust for money is bringing to near extinction the local elephant population.
