Tanzania has put in place precautionary measures against the Zika Virus, which is ravaging countries in the Americas and described by the World Health Organization (WHO), as a global threat.
Deputy Minister for Health, Community Development, Gender, Elders and Children, Dr Hamisi Kigwangalla, made the assurance in his response to a supplementary question by Special Seats MP, Ms Suzan Lyimo (Chadema), who had queried the preparedness of the country to tackle the disease.
