Gambia: Environment - Women Initiative - the Gambia Supporting Local Communities to Improve Income

The Gambia Women's Initiative exists to support financially poor women in The Gambia, with the stated goal of increasing their income, and thus improving the standard of living for their families and communities, including turning waste into wealth.

"We help communities develop their project idea, help with training, funding, and capacity building. This is to ensure continuity of the project activities as we move to new projects or to new communities. We are constantly looking for new ways to help communities," said Ms Isatou Ceesay.
