Somalia: Stop Releasing Al Shababa Members From Prison, Says President

Speaking at the parliament session on Sunday, the president of the federal government Hassan Sheikh has called on lawmakers and other government officials not to release arrested Alshabaab members from prisons.

"Security of the country will not be handled if officials don't stop defending and releasing the jailed Al shabaab elements. Let the security agencies do their job," said president Mohamud.

Mr Mohamud said Al Shabaab is the biggest threat of the country's security, and called for members of the group held in custody should not be set free by officials in the federal government.
