Algeria: Diplomacy - Cameroon, Nigeria, Algeria Intensify Cooperation

The Minister Delegate in the Ministry of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Islamic World, Adoum Gargoum, yesterday February 4, 2016, in Yaounde held separate talks with the Nigerian High Commissioner to Cameroon, Her Excellency Hadiza Mustapha and the Ambassador of the Democratic and People's Republic of Algeria, His Excellency Merzak Bedjaoui. Both audiences centred on reinforcing bilateral cooperation between Cameroon and the two countries.

The Nigerian diplomat told Cameroon Triube that it was a routine discussion between her and Minister Adoum Gargoum on the security challenges both countries are going through. "We always share ideas first about how Cameroon and Nigeria can cooperate on the issue of security challenges and the successes and challenges and how to help each other continue the fight", the Nigerian High Commissioner stated. Cameroon and Nigeria, she explained, are intensifying economic and political ties with a conference on security and a business forum in perspective in 2016. "2016 is going to be as active as 2015 but of course the main focus to conclude with the war against Boko Haram", she said while calling for more vigilance as the weakened insurgent group is now putting up new tactics.
