Egypt: Federation of Egyptian Workers in Italy Says Killing Italian Student Aims to Create Tension Between Two Countries

Head of the federation of Egyptian workers in Italy Dr. Eissa Iskander said that he met with the Egyptian ambassador in Rome Amr Helmy to discuss the latest developments as regards the death of Italian student Guilio Regeni.

Iskander pointed out that the federation held an expanded meeting with the Italian labor federations and called for issuing a joint statement to clarify that the Egyptian security bodies are not responsible for the crime.

Dr. Iskander explained that this crime aims at creating tension between Egypt and Italy.
