South Africa: Cape Town Teen Slashes Tyres, Stabs Cop

A teenager allegedly damaged vehicles at Nyanga police station and injured a police officer, Western Cape police said on Sunday.

The 19-year-old allegedly slashed the tyres of eight police vehicles and two private vehicles, said spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Andre Traut.

It is believed that he then stabbed an officer who apprehended him in the arm.

Traut said the youth would appear in court on Monday.

The motive for the damage to property and attempted murder was not immediately clear.
