Ghana: Shipping App Launched in Ghana

Swiftly, the world's first class collaborative shipping platform has been launched in Ghana to boost cargo and package delivery activities.

The app will give people the platform to share extra space with someone else when shipping by air, sea or land.

The concept designed by Ghanaians works by pushing all matches made on the app platform to freight forwarders. The shipping process remains the same. It goes through the same handling process, same use of operated scanners with each party being registered as co-signers to the shipment. The parties share cost with each getting cheaper and more affordable service.

A director at the Ministry of Transport, Lawrence Kumi said he finds SWIFTLY genius, innovative and particularly strategic.

"The private sector participation in transport and logistics planning and policy making can boost trade competitiveness in the country," CEO of Iyris KO, creators of SWIFTLY, Edem Dotse, said.
