Liberia: End Provocation - Liberia Condemns North Korea's Missile Launch

Monrovia — The Government of Liberia has joined other United Nations (UN) Member States in condemning the launch of a long-range missile into space by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). The Government of Liberia in a statement says it is concerned of the launch and its implications on international peace and security, particularly, that DPRK went on to test a long-range ballistic missile technology in defiance of numerous international warnings.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, the launch on Sunday, February 7, came one month after DPRK, also known as North Korea, purportedly tested a hydrogen bomb. This was DPRK's 4th nuclear test carried out in recent times. While condemning the launch, the Liberian Government calls on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to abide by United Nations resolutions and cease all provocations in the region. North Korea has in recent time tested long range missiles. North Korea, in previous years - 2006, 2009, and 2013 - had conducted three underground nuclear tests drawing sanctions from the United Nations Security Council.
