Africa: Govt Welcomes South Africa's Announcement On Withdrawing Its Troops From Unamid

Khartoum — The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ibrahim Ghandour, has welcomed the announcement by the government of South Africa that Pretoria is withdrawing its troops which have been participating in the African Union-United Nations Peace Mission in Darfur UNAMID for seven years.

Professor Ghandour told said the Sudan commends the stands of the government and people of south Africa and that of president Jacob Zuma for the performance of the south African forces within the UNAMID's peace keeping mission in the Darfur.
