South Africa: 1 000 Bags of Dagga Found in Vosloorus Hostel

One thousand Ziploc bags of dagga and almost 300 packs of Nyaope were found in a kitchen in a Vosloorus hostel on Friday, Ekurhuleni Metro Police said.

Spokesperson Lieutenant Kobeli Mokheseng said officers were acting on a tip off when they visited Block 1 of the Mnguni hostel in Maake street.

They cornered two men who shared a room and allegedly found the dagga and Nyaope stashed in a kitchen cupboard.

They were taken to the Vosloorus police station and charged with possession of illicit substances and are expected to appear in the Vosloorus Magistrate's Court soon.
