Africa: Commission On the Status of Women 60 Begins

Gender Links (GL) today joins government representatives, UN entities, activists and other civil society organisations at the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) 60.

The session runs from 14 - 24 March 2016. This sixtieth session is the first CSW happening just months after the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs).

This year, the priority theme is "Women's empowerment and the link to sustainable development" and the review theme is "The elimination and prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls".
