The UN special envoy Martin Kobler has called for Libya's unity government to take charge 'within days" in the capital Tripoli. The historic capital is currently ruled by an Islamist administration.
The unity government was formed under a UN-mediated peace deal. Headed by a little-known Libyan technocrat, Fayez Serraj, the government was supposed to replace the two rival administrations - one based in the capital Tripoli, the other based in the eastern city of Tobruk.
