Egypt: Foreign Ministry Follows Up Egyptian Pilgrim Bus Accident

The Egyptian consulate in Jeddah is closely following up the repercussions of an Egyptian pilgrim bus accident on Mecca-Madinah road in Saudi Arabia which took place earlier in the day.

The bus - which was carrying on board 44 Egyptian pilgrims who were performing Umrah - overturned, leaving 19 people dead and 25 injured, Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and Egyptian Expatriates Hisham Naqib said.

So far, there are eight bodies of unidentified people, he said, noting that efforts are underway to identify them through their fingerprints.
