Nigeria: N1.04 Trillion Fine - FG Accuses N'Assembly of Stalling Settlement By MTN

Abuja — The Minister of Communication Technology, Mr. Adebayo Shittu, on Wednesday accused the National Assembly (NASS) of stalling progress in the payment of the balance of the N1.04 trillion fine imposed on the telecommunication giant for breach of SIM card registration rules last year.

Asked why there is delay from MTN in settling the balance of the fine, he said: "If you are talking about MTN fine, I was at NASS platform recently. The real process, to my mind, is the fact that the National Assembly, particularly the House of Representatives, is investigating this matter.
