Tanzania: Ghost Workers Count Now Embarrasses Arusha

Arusha — The number of ghost workers in Arusha Region has risen to 350 following the discovery of 180 new names of non-existent employees holding positions and vacancies in public offices here.

According to the Regional Commissioner, Mr Daudi Felix Ntibenda, the 180 phantom workers were found to be draining public funds in Meru and Karatu Districts. "The exercise to flush out these fake employees is an ongoing one," said the RC when addressing members of the Press in his office.
