Sudan: Commission - '30,000 Weapons in South and West Darfur Civilian Hands'

Darfur — The Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration Commission has made an inventory of more than 30,000 weapons in the hands of civilians in South and West Darfur at the beginning of the registration and inventory process in the five states.

Ismail Khalaf, the director of community security and control administration, said that the plan for arms collection in Darfur has begun with raising awareness about the dangers of weapons and their impact on the communities.
