Tanzania: Repeal Draconian Laws for Media Growth, Govt Urged

Dar es Salaam — The chairman of the Commission for Human Rights and Good Governance (CHRGG), Mr Tom Nyanduga, has urged the government to come up with laws which will protect the freedom of the media instead of infringing on the right.

Mr Nyanduga said the government should not inhibit the media or freedom of information, but rather concretise the achievements so far gained and fight against challenges.
