South Africa: Minister Michael Masutha Delivers Correctional Services Budget Vote Speech, 3 May

Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Adv. Michael Masutha (MP), will deliver an annual budget policy statement for the Department of Correctional Services in the National Assembly on 3 May 2016. Minister Masutha is expected to update parliament on progress made in utilising the 2015/16 budget allocation and also outline the targets and priorities set for the DCS for the 2016/17 financial year.

Members of the media are invited to a media briefing prior to the delivery of the budget vote speech, where Minister Masutha will highlight the key areas of focus for the 2016/17 financial year. This will present an opportunity for the media to engage the Minister, Deputy Minister Thabang Makwetla and National Commissioner Zach Modise on the embargoed speech before its delivery.
