Liberia: Coach Debbah Recalls 'Grandpa' Doe to Lone Stars

Liberia's Lone Star head coach, James Salinsa Debbah has recalled goal machine, Francis 'Grandpa' Forkey Doe to the national team to face the Sparrow Hawks of Togo this June, in a crucial 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.

The striker, who had been sidelined after five international matches, has already been contacted by the Liberia Football Association (LFA) through his Malaysian Super League outfit, Felda United.

He missed Debbah's debut encounter against Togo in the first leg in June of last year where the red, white and blue outfit went down 2-1, but got a call-up three months later against Tunisia at the ATS.

The invitation paid off well for the Lone Star with the goal customer scoring the lone goal in the 79th minute to frustrate Carthage Eagles of Tunisia 1-0 as Liberia got in contention for qualification for the Gabon jamboree.

Coach Debbah, posted on his official Face book page that he will include Doe to the squad to face the Sparrow Hawks of Togo this June.

He wrote, "(Liberia VS Togo) all hands on deck!!! I am going to call-up all our best players. Grandpa Doe included! He has sincerely apologized to his team-mates as well as every member of the technical staff including me and most importantly, the Liberian people who have facilitated the progress of the National Team (Lone Star) by paying their taxes," Debbah said.
