Tanzania: Law Enforcers to Benefit From New Housing Units

Dodoma — In a bid to curb lack of proper accommodation among the country's law enforcement forces, the government is planning to construct close to 15,000 housing units across the country.

Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Charles Kitwanga, told the National Assembly here yesterday that the government understands that there was a huge shortage of housing units for its armed forces and efforts are being made to solve the problem He said the demand for housing units for Tanzania Prisons stands at 14,500, while at the moment only 4,221 are available. The shortage, he said, is 10,279 housing units.
