Rwanda: Medical Students Decry Delay of Internship Fees

Students at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Rwanda are crying foul after four months without receiving their internship fees. They say the internship stipend helps them with daily necessities such as transport, rent and food.

Patrick Ntihabose, a student on internship at Kanombe Hospital, told The Rwanda Focus that the last time he received money was at the beginning of February. "I spent four months without getting internship fees, and the college does not even give us a clue on when they will get us money. We will end internship on June 3 before going for holidays," he said.
