Ethiopian marathoner Senbeto Geneti Guteta won the 16th Buffalo Marathon on Sunday, crossing the finish line in 2 hours, 22 minutes and 50 seconds. Senbeto earned 2,000 USD for the win. His time fell short of the record 2:15.59 set by two-time defending champion Kip Tisia of Rochester.
Tisia was unable to race this year because of a family emergency.
