Kampala — Injury has forced Ugandan marathoner Abraham Kiplimo to withdraw from the Olympic Games getting underway August 5 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The 27-year-old had already secured his ticket to Rio after clocking 2:12:23 to finish fourth at the Beppu-Oita Marathon in Japan on February 1 last year. However, the runner hurt his knees during the World Athletics Championships in Beijing last August. He dropped out of the World Championships race and has since struggled to get back to full fitness.
