Kitui County Commissioner Boaz Cherutich has issued a two-week ultimatum to herders from North Eastern Kenya, who have encroached the county in search of pasture, to return to their homes or face forceful ejection.
Speaking Wednesday at Ithookwe Showground during the 53rd Madaraka Day celebrations, Mr Cherutich said the presence of the herders in the area has posed a major security threat, especially along the border between Kitui and Tana River counties.
