Following the decision of the FIFA Council on 4 June 2016 on the "conditional lifting of the suspension of Benin", the Confédération Africaine de Football has decided to postpone the AFCON 2017 qualifier between Benin and Equatorial Guinea initially scheduled for Sunday, 5 June 2016.

The match will now be played on Sunday, 12 June 2018, only if the Elective General Assembly of the Fédération Béninoise de Football is held no later than 11 June 2016.

If this condition is not met, the game will simply be cancelled and the Organising Committee for the Africa Cup of Nations will rule on the case.

This is the substance of the correspondence from the CAF Secretary General to the parties today.
