Zimbabwe: Miss Carnival Rebrands

Popular local pageant Miss Carnival is being re-branded to Miss Tourism Zimbabwe in line with the sector's mandate to promote Zimbabwe's culture and tourism. The re-branding will coincide with the relaunch of the pageant today at the Meikles Hotel. The pageant was last held in 2014 where Gamuchirayi Kujeke was crowned winner and later competed in the Miss Tourism International pageant held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia later that year.Chengetai Kanonhuwa who was first princess in the Miss World Zimbabwe 2015 beauty pageant was later made the face of Zimbabwe' tourism in line with the agreement between Miss Zimbabwe Trust.

Pageant chaperon Barbara Mzembi said the re-branding would not change the concept of the pageant.
