Nigeria: Court Arraigns Ortom's Special Adviser, Remands Him in Prison

The magistrate Court in Makurdi presided over by Justice Theresa Wergba yesterday arraigned the special adviser on special duties to Governor Samuel Ortom, Joseph Ikyaagba, over alleged gruesome murder of the senior special assistant to the governor on special security, Denen Igbana.

Igbana, a retired police inspector was shot and killed by some notorious gunmen in his residence in Makurdi and the police had quickly arrested the special adviser and seven others over the killing of the governor's aide. The police had earlier refused to reveal the names of the suspects and the situation caused ripples in the state.
