Zimbabwe: Huawei Eyes 100 Percent Growth in Sales

HUAWEI Zimbabwe is targeting to double monthly sales volumes for mobile phones to 25 000 units by end of this year, as its market share continues to grow, a senior official said. Country sales manager Robert Gonye said in an interview last week that Huawei has been building distribution networks and infrastructure since coming on the market in 2012.With the foundation and other supporting infrastructure now firmly in place, Mr Gonye said, Huawei has its sights on increasing unit sales to 25 000 per month by end of the third quarter.

"The current state of affairs is that we are doing almost half of that, which is a good, but we feel that there still is growth and serious appetite because you find that the majority of phones being purchased in Zimbabwe are feature phones," he said.
