Angola: Defense Minister Visits Italy

Luanda — The strengthening of cooperation between the Ministries of Defense of Angola and Italia tops the visit being paid by the Minister of National Defense, João Lourenço, to that European country as from Wednesday.

According to a press note from the Ministry of National Defense, João Lourenço, who heads a delegation comprised by members of his Ministry and of the Angolan Armed Forces, will until May 18 to review with his Italian counterpart, Roberta Pinotti, the current state of relations between the two institutions.

Just to recall, Angola and Italy have since November 2013 signed a cooperation agreement in the field of defense and international security which foresees capacity building and training in the military domain, intelligence, collaboration in humanitarian operations and peace support, search and rescue , landmine clearance, medical medicinal assistance.

The parties also agreed to cooperate in the fields of military law, sport and culture, science and technology of military interest and defense industry.
