Uganda Demands Capacity for Contractors

Kampala, Uganda — Uganda's Finance Minister Matia Kasaija has said local contractors must build capacity in order to become competitive and bid for large infrastructure projects in Uganda.

Kasaijja who was addressing the 17th National Budget Breakfast hosted by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) said local contractors need to build capacity both technical and financially because, when most of them are offered contracts, they end up doing shoddy work.
