The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) has appointed former Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete, the centre's Goodwill Ambassador dealing with agriculture development in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific.
CTA is under the European Union and is headquartered in Wageningen, Holland. According to a letter handed to the former president by a CTA board member, Prof Faustin Kamuzora, the former Fourth Phase Government president, was appointed in recognition of his enormous contribution and endeavours in developing the agriculture sector in Tanzania and African continent at large.
