Nigeria: Troops Rescue 5,000 Hostages, Kill 10 Boko Haram Militants

The Nigerian army on Sunday said troops on Operation Lafiya Dole in the north east, rescued 5,000 hostages and killed 10 Boko Haram members during ongoing fighting patrols to rid the region of remnants of militants.

A statement from Army spokesman, Colonel Sani Usman, said troops of 21 Brigade and Civilian JTF on a fighting patrol to Zangebe, Maiwa, Algaiti and Mainari villages, killed 6 Boko Haram militants and wounded several others.
