document

Parliament, Monday 27 June 2016 - The Portfolio Committee on Arts and Culture congratulates South African House DJ Mr Nkosinathi Maphumolo, better known as Black Coffee for winning the BET Best International Act: Africa Category over the weekend.

This recognition attests to the level of artistic ability existing in the country. His success should serve as a beacon of hope to emerging performing artists that it is possible to attain international acclaim through hard work and dedication. The announcement, made while the country commemorates Youth Month, demonstrates the realisation of convictions of the 1976 class and must serve as a lesson for the current generation to carve their own place in history.
