Nigeria: Edo Governorship - Court to Hear Suit Against Sherriff's Planned Primary Election

Lokoja — A Federal High Court in Benin has fixed July 1 for hearing of a motion seeking to restrain Sen Ali Modu Sheriff led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from conducting another primary election in the state.

The suit, FHC/B/CS/109/2016 is also seeking to restrain Johnson Agbonayinma, Matthew Iduoriyekemwen and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from participating in the primary election.
