Through the MoU, WFP and TOD will work on designing and implementing programmes for the promotion of food security, nutrition and resilience among vulnerable groups and communities in eastern Sudan. These include nutrition education in public schools, providing school meals through home-grown school feeding as well as helping vulnerable groups and communities establish asset-creation and income-generating projects.
"We are very fortunate to have found a solid partner whose presence on the ground in eastern Sudan has made a difference in the lives of people that they assist," said WFP Sudan Representative and Country Director Adnan Khan. "All these activities are key objectives of WFP's current country plan for Sudan that was launched last year."
