It's our last night at the Singita Grumeti game reserve and conservation park and we've just finished a succulent three course meal and are about to head back to our rooms when one of the waiters tells us a lion has been spotted on the way.
These are not words anyone ever wants to hear, the fact that we are on safari does nothing to quell our nerves. The waiters assure us that the lion will not attack us no matter what. We smile nervously and insist on a cart escort instead of the standard security guard back to our rooms.
