Tanzania: Machinery Plant Back in Production After Ten Years

Kilimanjaro Machinery and Tools Ltd (KMT) has resumed production after being dormant for over a decade the National Development Corporation (NDC) revealed.

Speaking at the ongoing 40th edition of the Dar es Salaam International trade Fair yesterday NDC communication manager Abel Ngapemba, said the production started earlier this year.

He added that NDC injected a total of Sh450 million into the company that was spent on buying iron smelting machines. He added that KMT had started manufacturing various products, including grinding and sawmill machinery.

According to Mr Ngapemba, currently NDC is in discussion with one of the local pension funds, with a view to investing in KMT.
