Tanzania: BoT Mwanza Crowned Volleyball Champions

Mwanza — Bank of Tanzania (BoT) claimed Mwanza Regional Volleyball championship after posting 41 unassailable points in the just ended league.

The league drew teams from all districts of Mwanza region in the tournament staged at Mwanza Transit Camp courts. MVC who notched 37 points finished overall runners up ahead of Baptist Volleyball club who finished third after collecting 25points.

Saint Augustine University who penned 22 points, finished at the fourth position, while fifth position was grabbed by Faru who penned 21 points. The hosts Mwanza Transit Camp (MTC) have finished sixth with 21 points as Buchosa District team finished seventh overall after collecting only 3 points. Bottom-placed were Ukerewe District who ended pointless. The winners BOT were awarded a ball and 1 set of Jersey besides a floating trophy.

The second-placed team received only a ball. In Women category BoT also emerged the winners after gathering 23 points. Magu finished second after collecting 19 points followed by Mwanza Transit Camp (MTC) who carded 12 points. BVC and Saut, both finished fourth and fifth respectively with 3 points.

The champions BoT women team received a silverware, a ball and a set of jersey. Tecno Mobile Lake zone branch Manager, William Motta also awarded cellular phones category winners. He thanked the teams that participated in the league and commended the Mwanza Regional Volleyball Association (MWAREVA) for organising a successful tournament.

An official from Mwareva and league's coordinator, Honorati Mayunga also congratulated all the teams that participated in the league and promised to stage a more competitive Beach Volleyball earmarked to start on August 20 this year.
