Africa: Ban Welcomes New Agreement With Inter Parliamentary Union - Reiterates Concern At South Sudan Crisis

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today signed a new partnership agreement with the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) that will further strengthen the collaboration between the two organizations in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement on climate change.

"The Members of Parliament are the ones who really listen to the real voices from the people on the ground and they represent the wishes and views and aspirations of the people," Mr. Ban said at a press encounter at the signing of the agreement.
